Bob Rozakis and Paul Kupperberg introduce a new villain for Superman in issue 387 (Sept. 83), with Swan and Colletta art.
As Lana Lang broadcasts a summit of world leaders in Egypt, Alexander the Great makes his debut. He also calls himself the Planeteer, and announces that he is the ancient leader himself, back after a long absence in space, come to take back control of the world.
He does posses some impressive weaponry. He is able to encase not only the world leaders in force field cages, but Superman and the Justice League as well.
Superman then gets sent on a merry chase to rescue the various chief executives. He does this, but gets no closer to capturing Alexander himself.
The story continues, but not in this book, moving over to Action Comics for the last two chapters.
